What have you done (for me) lately?*
-cleaned up (and messed up) studio for the visit
-wrote artist statement
-went to NY
-tried to catch up from the week of classes I missed in NY (non-linear optics grrrr...)
oh you meant art work...
-more work on the paddle, I rounded the handle some, narrowed the shaft (although I fear its not straight) and planed the blade more. Its slow going, because I don't want to go too far. There is no undo. Also the spindle sander is gunked up and I don't know were the cleaning block is. Also Birch is a hard wood.
-made a deck of cards case , totally stole the idea from a camper I had over the summer...
-made several belts. first one had a NRS buckle, then a spare metal O ring that came with my rescue vest, then a spare climbing buckle from the OP...
-bought wood for future paddles, spent some time searching for clear (knot-less) doug-fir.
-did some more paddle planning. Had a revelation about what should go on Emma's.
-calculated I can probably make one for Jeremiah, which would make me happy... I have not told him yet... that would bring the total to 7. (including the one I am currently working on) A little daunting, but I know the assembled (as apposed to solid piece) paddles are faster. Also part of the work (as suggested by Daniel) might be them helping me make them...{see that clever cop-out?}

points for naming the knots... no points for "meaning" of knots chosen...
This was about 7 hours of work on the paddle. Slow progress.
* you see that? I made a pop culture reference... I had to look up what to though...
