I was working on a themed deck of cards with somewhere between 52 and 54 unique images in total. I have shot all of the photos, and am now compiling the digital files, and waiting for my paper to arrive. The hearts are mostly on my Mamiya 645, and clubs will be exclusively on a Holga. then processing them into a photopolymer and printing said blocks. Each card is going to be monochromatic, so the hearts and diamonds will have red and white images on them. Below are some of the digital files I am going to use to make the cards, which will look something like that, but probably with higher contrast, some embossing on the front, and other unforeseeable changes. These are black and white because they are going to printed onto transparencies then exposed into photopolymer, and the color of the ink will determine the color of the cards. The cards are going to be 2.75 by 4 inches, smaller then the preview image offered. Ideally the hearts will be a cedar/mahogany red or maroon color, the diamonds will be full on red, the spades black and the clubs black.
For better or worse this project is now on hold, as I don't have access to the printing press or the time to properly finish it.

P.S. I owe the symbolic design to this guy: http://byronknoll.blogspot.com/2011/03/vector-playing-cards.html , who thankfully put his hard work into the public domain. If not already clear, hearts are all wood grain themed, Spades are reflections, Diamonds will be still lives of light or lasers and glass, and clubs will be running images or trails. I hope to have all of the images shot by the end of spring break.
